The IPRO Quality Improvement Network–Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) is pleased to present an eight-session educational series entitled Telehealth Practice Innovations During the COVID-19 Pandemic. 

This series will focus on:

  • How health care organizations implemented telehealth technology in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Benefits, challenges, and barriers related to telehealth implementation.
  • Best practices from organizations currently using telehealth for care management. 

Peer–to-peer learning with early and recent adopters of telehealth technology representing a variety of health care settings.

Our Speaker 

Reid Plimpton is the Project Manager for the federally-funded Northeast Telehealth Resource Center, and a member of the National Consortium of Telehealth Resource Centers.

While assisting organizations in developing, implementing, and expanding telehealth programs, Mr. Plimpton researches and tracks telehealth reimbursement policies, legal and regulatory issues, model programs, telehealth technology, and other topics. 

Mr. Plimpton recently completed his Master of Public Health with Honors from The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice.

IPRO QIN-QIO Webinar on August 11: Medicare Billing and Coding for Telehealth During the COVID-19 Pandemic

                                                                         Tuesday, August 11, 1–2PM EDT

Learn how to bill Medicare for expanded telehealth services under the CMS 1135 Waiver. The presentation, by Susan Whittaker, CPC, CPMA, Senior Program Coordinator, Healthcentric Advisors will include information on

  • Medicare telehealth coding and billing based on care setting (i.e., physician office, Federally Qualified and Rural Health Centers)
  • Telehealth visits, phone services, eVisits, and Virtual check-ins
  • Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy
  • Modifiers CS, CR, and 95
  • Diagnosis, laboratory, and treatment coding for COVID-19 

Our Speaker 

Susan Whittaker, CPC, CPMA, has more than 25 years of experience working with health care providers, including those in private practices, hospital–based settings, and critical access hospitals. 

Currently she is a Senior Program Coordinator for Healthcentric Advisors where she provides Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) technical assistance to small practices in New England. As an adjunct to her Quality Payment Program (QPP) work, Ms. Whittaker provides implementation and reimbursement education for other Medicare initiatives such as telehealth, Annual Wellness Visit, Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program, and Chronic/ Complex and Transitional Care Management.  

Ms. Whittaker is a certified Professional Coder and Certified Professional Medical Auditor through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
