  • Discussion regarding electronic initiatives which will come sometime next year. An increase in the renewal period from 2 to 3 years will take a statutory change. DOH working on the next steps to move this forward via governor’s budget bill.
  • Currently the regulatory change package is at the executive approval level to change the exam trial period to be more consistent with other states. Additionally, removal of the 80 bed for AIT training site.
  • Further discussion was held regarding the HSE WebEx that was held in June 2019. This WebEx was scheduled to help BENHA board members understand the process and ask questions related to NYS moving forward with adopting the credentials. Currently, 17 states have adopted this in statue and 20 more are in the works. Again, a statutory change would be required.
