Important Survey: Electronic Health Records in SNF

Author: Nancy Leveille and Lisa Volk* Published in Clinical & Quality

All SNF should have received the survey link (attached) from Mark Kissinger related to your organization's level of Electronic Health Record (EHR) Implementation and interoperability features. NYSHFA worked with DOH to get this survey developed in order to assess the status of NYS SNF EHR capabilities. NYSHFA has advocated for monies to go to the SNF to enhance their capabilities and be on par with other parts of the Health Care System who have continually received funds from NYS. In addition, we currently have the waiver for E-Prescribing, but we need to renew that each year as needed. NYSHFA continues to also stress the need for the “Nurse as the Agent” of the MD for E-Prescribing to be effective. Our goal with this survey is to establish our current status on EHR in SNF, identify the needs and barriers to full implementation and interoperability and obtain financial support for the SNF.

We strongly request that all SNF complete the survey no later than October 4, 2019. Thank you!!
