Value Based Purchasing Bootcamps – What Are They and Why Attend?

Deanna Stephenson in Managed Care

Dear Provider,

As Value Based Purchasing will become a norm in the next few years in every health care sector in New York State, it is essential to have an understanding of the program, know how it will affect your nursing facility and engage in steps to prepare your facility to engage and embrace VBP. DOH has created VBP Bootcamps for the provider community. These venues have been set up throughout New York State and the goals for each are to:

  • Bridge the gaps between other presentations over the past two years;
  • Position VBP Contractors, payers and stakeholders to transition into VBP;
  • Provide a forum for continued discussion and collaboration on topics most important to VBP; and
  • Share insights, lessons learned and support to providers, payers and community based organizations that are transitioning to VBP.

Topics covered include:

  • Introduction to VBP Finance
  • Payer & Provider Led Finance Discussion
  • Contracting: Best Practices, Lifecycle & Checklist
  • VBP Arrangements
  • CBO Roadmap, Requirements and Strategies
  • MLTC Design & Quality Measures

All Bootcamps are free and open to all interested parties. Space is limited so first come, first serve. You do not need to attend each region’s bootcamp. The next and final VBP Bootcamp for 2017 will be held on November 15, 2017 at the Long Island Marriott on Long Island. Please see below link for further details.
