SNF Minimum Wage Survey

The Department of Health (DOH) has released its minimum wage survey, a tool which allows the State to determine the financial impact of minimum wage increases on nursing homes per the State’s increase in the minimum wage. Increases in the State’s minimum wage will continue through 2021, and DOH will utilize survey data submitted to assist in reconciling the 2017 minimum wage adjustment.

Although previous drafts of the survey contained contract staffing questions, the final survey does not include questions regarding contract staff. NYSHFA is presently seeking clarification regarding this omission.  

Surveys are due by close of business Wednesday, August 23, 2017. DOH has stated that it will not grant extensions, and failure to complete the survey could result in automatic default to an average nursing home wage calculation based on dated information from your facility. This may result in no additional reimbursement for the minimum wage increase.
