Support the Foundation & Participate in an Influenza Vaccine Study

A team of nationally recognized long-term care researchers from Case Western Reserve University and Brown University, Stefan Gravenstein, MD, MPH, CMD, and Vincent Mor, PhD, are recruiting for a national quality improvement study that evaluates the impact of the annual influenza vaccine choice on long-term care facility residents' hospitalization risk for the 2016-2017 influenza season. Eligible nursing facilities that agree to participate will be allocated to either the standard annual trivalent influenza vaccine or the adjuvanted trivalent influenza vaccine, Fluad. Both of these vaccines are recommended by the CDC for annual protection against influenza infection in adults. Facilities will receive a free supply for vaccine for the 2016-17 annual vaccination, compensation for data entry, and free supply of vaccine for facility staff. The Foundation will receive a small donation for each facility it has referred and that participates in this study.

If you are interested in participating in this important project, please notify us as soon as possible by calling our study coordinating center, Insight Therapeutics, LLC, at 757-625-6040, or via email to H.
