Karen Morris in Clinical & Quality
AHCA has announced the release of the following CDC “Core Elements of Antibiotic Stewardship in Nursing Homes” resources. As you may know, facilities will be required to have antibiotic stewardship programs under the proposed CMS conditions of participation. Please share these resources with your Medical Director, Director of Nursing, Infection Control Nurse and Staff Development Coordinator.
In addition, NYSHFA will be conducting an audio conference on October 21, “Effective Infection Prevention and Control Programs” which will include a section on antibiotic stewardship. Click here for brochure and to register.
Today, CDC releases the Core Elements of Antibiotic Stewardship in Nursing Homes. This resource is designed to help nursing homes improve antibiotic prescribing practices and reduce inappropriate use to protect residents from the consequences of antibiotic-resistant infections, such as C. difficile.
