Gayle Farman and Rick Patterson in Foundation for Quality Care News

The Foundation for Quality Care (FQC), the research and education affiliate of the New York State Health Facilities Association (NYSHFA), is pleased to announce two Updated and Revised First Line Manager/Supervisor courses.  This program will be available for all disciplines’ (dietary, housekeeping, nursing, therapy, etc.) managers and supervisors. This revised course will be offered in Syracuse and Rochester this fall.

Applicant Must be working in either the Rochester, Central, or Northeastern Region of New York.

This program is funded by a grant from the New York State Dept. of Health and Dept. of Labor Health Workforce Retraining Initiative.

A brochure and program information sheet are attached below.  They outline the course content, eligibility criteria, dates, times and locations.  Along with this information is a participant application form, which must be completed and returned with the required supporting documentation prior to Friday, July 31, 2015.
Rochester Region (Counties include: Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, & Yates)
Central and Northeastern Region (Counties include: Albany, Broome, Cayuga, Chemung, Clinton, Cortland, Essex, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Onondaga, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Warren, & Washington)

This newly revised First Line Manager/Supervisor leadership program can accommodate 20 participants. Given our past experience, we expect the number of applications will far exceed the number of available openings. We encourage applicants to apply early.

The selection criteria will be based on: education, experience, applicant’s letter of interest describing how this program will enhance professional development and a letter of support from the sponsoring facility Administrator, noting the applicant will be able to attend all sessions.  The timeliness and completeness of the submitted application and the number of applicants from a single facility will also be considered.

More than one applicant from a facility can apply.  If more than one applicant applies from a facility, the Administrator should prioritize applicants for possible selection.
