In Memoriam – Dr. Stanley Dicker, Longtime friend of the Association

Richard J. Herrick in From the President

It is with sincere regret that I inform you of the death of our former President of the Board and dear friend Dr. Stanley Dicker. Dr. Dicker had a long and varied career in health care including owning and operating nursing homes, a health homecare business, an adult day care center and ambulatory surgical care center.

Dr. Dicker received his EngScD in mechanical engineering from Columbia School of Engineering and Applied Science.  His strong commitment to Columbia continued as he endowed the Stanley Dicker Professorship in Biomedical Engineering and his establishment of two scholarships for undergraduates majoring in biomedical engineering in honor of his late father and mother, the Jack Dicker Scholarship and the Freda Dicker Scholarship.

Dr. Dicker has been a strong supporter of the Association for many decades being among its earliest members. In 1992 Dr. Dicker was named President of the Board of the NYS Health Facilities Association and served in that capacity for 2 years. Prior to this Dr. Dicker served as Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer of the Association as well as Vice President of Legal Affairs and Vice President of Finance. Most recently he served as a member of the Legal Action and Payment for Services committees.

As soon as the Association becomes aware of the arrangements for Dr. Dicker we will inform members.
