Universal Settlement – Next Steps

NYSHFA has notified all members of the next steps related to the Universal Settlement (US), namely, a requirement from DOH to list any excluded appeals/litigation and respond back by March 1, 2015.

Below is the email sent late yesterday to owners/operators:

“NYSHFA Members:
As part of the Universal Settlement (US), each facility is now required to notify DOH of any appeals or litigation (ie: “Excluded Matters”) that fall under the US exclusions section of the term sheet.
Members are asked to take immediate action as defined in the attached US Excluded List Memo.
Responses are due back to NYSHFA by Sunday March 1, 2015 in order to allow DOH sufficient time to reach their goal of payments as soon as April, 2015.
We ask that all members respond via the attached “Listing of Excluded Matters” document, even if your facility has no exclusions to the US.

This will enable us to ensure all members are accounted for in this process.
