Relief From Statutes and Regulations During Emergencies: Webinar Rescheduled for December 15

  • In response to healthcare providers’ request for clarification about temporary suspension or modification of statutes and regulations during and after emergencies, HANYS and associations across the continuum of care have teamed up with DOH to provide guidance through a guidebook, and now a webinar.

  • On Monday, December 15, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., HANYS will host a webinar in collaboration with 13 associations to provide an overview of the process and an opportunity to ask questions of experts at DOH. Please register online.

  • The December 15 webinar was original scheduled for November 3; if you previously registered, you do not need to re-register.

After the events of the 2009 influenza pandemic, Hurricane Irene, Superstorm Sandy, and other emergencies, members expressed a need for guidance on how to seek the suspension or modification of statutes and regulations during emergencies.

In response, HANYS and Iroquois Healthcare Alliance, in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH), convened a workgroup of associations representing healthcare providers across the continuum of care to develop guidance and assemble a list of potential statutory and regulatory barriers.

This guidance and list of potential statutory and regulatory barriers are posted on the HANYS website in the form of a guidebook.

The December 15 webinar will provide an opportunity for members to ask questions and receive further clarification on this subject.

Please register online.
