Medicaid to Change Electronic Remittance Delivery Date

Carl J. Pucci in Finance & Reimbursement

Attached is a bulletin issued regarding a change in the delivery date of the electronic remittances, which are made available via the EMEDNY system (to be effective 4/7/14).

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) now requires that transmission of the remittance advice cannot occur more than three days prior to the funds availability.  (Currently, the electronic remittance is made available two weeks prior, on the payment issue date.)

Note
:  This does not impact the Medicaid cycle payment schedule, and providers may still call two weeks prior to receive their check amount.
