MDS 3.0 Training Schedule for 2014 – New Webinar Format

Nancy Leveille and Karen Morris in Clinical & Quality

The University at Albany School of Public Health has released the 2014 MDS training schedule.  As previously reported, the SPH now offers webinar-based training (see attached.) The webinar training offers facilities the opportunity for their interdisciplinary team members to train together and better understand how the various elements of the MDS are interconnected.  This basic training can be used to introduce new staff to the MDS or serve as a refresher for staff to insure they are up to date on the most current MDS RAI Manual revisions. Current OMIG audit findings have identified the failure of providers to complete MDS items accurately as instructed by the RAI manual. This training is designed to instruct and clarify accurate coding on the MDS.  These are the only MDS trainings in New York State that are approved by the NYS Department of Health.  Registration and further information is available at The SPH will continue to offer in person courses although none are scheduled at this time.
