DOH to Implement Electronic POC (ePOC) on August 1, 2013

In an effort to streamline communications between Nursing Homes and  the NYSDOH, an electronic Plan of Correction (ePOC) system will be implemented on August 1, 2013.  Refer to the attached DAL for details.  Provider training via webinar will be provided between July 15 and July 31. Check on the NYSDOH Learning Management System’s (LMS) calendar to enroll in a training session  If you are not registered on this free training website, you will need to create a user name and password.  

This new initiative also requires providers to add the new “Operator” role to their HCS communications directory. In the past SOD’s were sent directly to operators and the Administrators were the secondary recipients.  With ePOC, the administrator will be the primary recipient of the SOD and it will be the responsibility of the administrator to communicate the SOD to any governing body or operator.  The Operator role has been created to help facilitate that communication.  

As always, it is vitally important that the communications directory is complete and kept current at all times. DOH has developed a Customer Help Desk to assist providers with all questions (518) 408-1278.
