DOH to Release Case Mix Monies

in Finance & Reimbursement

DOH has notified facilities that the remaining $70M of the $140M attributed to the monies owed for the January 2012 CMI increases will be released. In effect, the 5% CMI cap initially put in place pending OMIG provider audits will be removed.

Attached is the email notice to providers from DOH, which outlines the timelines related to the July 2012 rate adjustment and subsequent payment.

As previously announced, OMIG will continue the audit process for both the January 2012 census, as well as initiate audits for the July 2012 census period.

NYSHFA has strongly advocated for the release of the Case Mix balance since the 5% CMI cap was put in place last fall.  We will continue to work with DOH and OMIG regarding audit protocols as well as assisting them in providing MDS educational resources for our members.
