At this year’s Annual Conference & Expo, NYSHFA’s membership will be asked to amend our Constitution. The proposed amendments are a direct result of the efforts of our Strategic Planning Committee to update NYSHFA’s mission and vision, governance and committee structure. The proposed amendments were fully examined and discussed at meetings of the NYSHFA Board both in December 2017 and April 2018. The July 1, 2018 Medicaid rates should be posted to the HCS within the next week or so. The rates will reflect the January 1, 2018 MDS data and retroactive adjustments will be processed in Medicaid payment cycle 2131, which has a check date of 6/25/18 and a check release date of 7/11/18. DOH has also updated the CRA billing per diem to 2016 (from 2014). Pilot Pharmaceutical Take-Back Program Open Enrollment

Enrollment in DEC's pilot pharmaceutical take-back program is now open to all New York State health care entities such as:

  • retail chain and independent pharmacies,
  • hospitals and medical clinics with on-site pharmacies, and
  • pharmacies servicing long-term care and assisted living facilities holding a Class 3A license in New York State.

The program covers the costs of consumer drug collection boxes and disposal for two years, and gives pharmacies a safe, convenient and effective way to keep drugs out of our waters and out of the wrong hands…..
